Catching Up!

It is amazing how busy life has been.  There is so much to write about, I'm not sure where to begin!
We took our last camping trip of the season a couple of weekends ago and it was so much fun!  Estes Park is AMAZING and we couldn't have asked for better weather.  The Jellystone in Estes hosts a Halloween weekend every year (always sold out) and it has become a tradition.  Such a great time!!

We spent the week of the 4th with family and friends in Buena Vista, CO. I love that we can all get together and enjoy one another!  It's busy, loud, and there is never a dull moment. These memories will last a lifetime.

Camping is serious business

We love camping!  I think a lot of it is escaping the everyday routines and really focusing on family and fun!

Making a dirt truck track

Hiking is one of our favorite things to do!  On our last camping trip we hiked to Zapata Falls near The Great Sand Dunes. It starts out pretty easy (although the road to the actual trail was a bit bumpy and we ended up needing a new muffler but that's another story)!  Once you get there you have to scale a wall and cross a river to actually get to the waterfall.  We did it! (much to Cody our little silky dog's dismay who did not enjoy the ice cold water :)

Another favorite is campfire and smore time!  This time we brought the ginormous marshmallows!

It's true what they say...the simplest things in life bring much joy!

Action packed fun in Alamosa

We had an action packed weekend in Alamosa, CO!  We were all awestruck as we drove towards the largest Sand Dunes in North America.  We rented sand boards and sand sleds and took to the slopes!

waxed and ready

"...or you can just roll down.."

I might recommend heading to the dunes in the early morning or evening after it cools off a bit.  It can get a little hot on the tootsies: )
This is a great time of year to visit because the snow melt is still running through at the base.  So we were able to cool our toes.

This is my big photography moment of the day!  Love it!!
The Colorado Gators farm was pretty crazy.  I have to be honest in saying that I felt uneasy MOST of the time we were there.  The boys all thought it was awesome.

Both boys got a bravery award for holding the baby gators : )
